Olympics season!

Posted by austenfan at 7/29/2012 09:49:00 PM 0 comments
The Olympics 2012 has begun! Are you excited for it? I confess that I'm not much of a sports buff, but I do enjoy watching a tennis match from time to time (especially if Nadal is playing). Tennis is a pretty interesting game to watch for me. Maybe because I understand the rules (mostly, not all of it), unlike boxing which just leaves me feeling completely clueless on how the winner is selected. Haha.

Have you already seen a lot of games from the Olympics? Have you seen the players? Were any of them wearing titanium sports necklace? I heard that it has a lot of benefits for athletes! I haven't tried wearing it, though, so I can't really speak from experience. :)

Diet, what ever happened to you?

I've been on an eating spree (if there is really such a term) this past weeks. For someone who claims to be on a diet, that's pretty bad. Actually, it is really bad. Haha.

What can I do? There are just too many interesting types of food to try! It doesn't help that the number of food blogs seem to be increasing exponentially. All these scrumptious pictures of cakes and other sweets... I just can't resist them!

Anyway, do you have a food blog? Give me the link and I'll try to visit back. :)

Late night munches

This is bad for my weight, I know. I can't seem to help myself, though.

This bread + iced tea/strawberry juice combo is just too good! :)

Play music?

Posted by austenfan at 7/09/2012 12:03:00 AM 0 comments
I love music. I like listening to all kinds of songs - pop, rock, mellow, alternative - as long as I like the melody and/or the lyrics. Creating music, though? That's a completely different story.

I'm not really familiar with musical terms, instruments, and anything involved in composing songs. So if you ask me if I've seen the latest model of the ac15hw1, I'd probably have nothing to tell you about it. Ask anyone who belongs in a band about it, though, and a minute's probably not enough for them to finish discussing it. Haha.

Who says you have to be an expert to love music, anyway? :)

Online shopping

Posted by austenfan at 7/08/2012 11:58:00 PM 0 comments
I haven't tried online shopping before, but I've heard you can really save more if you choose to buy some stuff online that buying them here.

The only problem is the shipping, and of course, the shipping fees. If you're just trying to buy a book, then the shipping fees would probably be higher than your book's costs. Haha. You better just request for it from Fully Booked, then. :) Yep, Fully Booked. Still the best book store in the country for me. :)

Starting the preparations?

Remember how we all get panicked when the holiday season starts and we find ourselves wondering what gifts should we get for our loved ones? Well, why not start thinking of it now? That way, you'll know what would make the perfect gift and you won't have to rush in getting them. Haha.

Maybe you could even buy holiday cards as early as now. I think those will be much cheaper if you buy them months before the holiday season.

What do you think? It'll definitely save you both time and money. :)

Facebook apps, do you still use them?

Posted by austenfan at 7/08/2012 11:40:00 PM 0 comments
There was a time in my life when I got addicted to playing games on Facebook - Mafia Wars, CityVille, and all those other new apps that just keep on popping up. Back then, I always got this rush when I see my "energy" being refreshed so that I can once again continue with the game..

Looking back, though, I can't understand how I got so addicted to these games. Now, I'd rather just look at my news feed and get updated on what's currently happening with my friends.

That's how trends come and go, then.

Sporty?

I've never been the sporty type. It's not for lack of trying, believe me. I guess me and sports just don't get along well together. Haha.

So, don't expect there to be sports trophies bearing my name displayed in our house. Come to think of it, my parents aren't sporty either so I guess, there's no reason for us to have any sports trophies at all.

Is it really due to my innate lack of skills in sports, though? Or have I just not tried hard enough to be any good at it? For those of you who are good at sports, how did you came to be how you are now? Did it take a lot of practice and effort? Did it come naturally to you?

British accents = LOVE

Posted by austenfan at 7/01/2012 10:29:00 PM 0 comments
What is it with guys with British accents that turns every girl into a giggling teenager? Yes, I'm guilty of this too!

May it be a character in a book that I'm currently or a movie that I happen to see while switching channels, these British guys come across as someone... more attractive, I guess. Maybe it's because that's how the author of the book wants the readers to the character as. Maybe I'm just easily affected and persuaded to feel the same way. Haha.

Why all this talk about British accents, anyway? One word. Klaus.

Can't wait for the 4th season of Vampire Diaries!
