Want to drive

Posted by austenfan at 4/29/2012 08:40:00 PM 0 comments
It must be fun to have your own car. To be able to hop into it whenever you feel like doing so and go for a spin around wherever it is you want to go to, now, doesn't that sound absolutely carefree and enjoyable?

Speaking of being mobile, I don't even know how to ride a bike! I would probably have to wear a motorcycle helmet even if it's just a bicycle since I'm really clumsy when it comes to these types of things (where you need to have balancing and coordination skills). Haha.

Do you know how to ride a bike? Is it really hard to learn, because it certainly looks so!

Done catching up with Gossip Girl!

So I'm currently watching (or waiting for the video to load, really) Despicable B, which is the last aired episode for the show. Yay! I thought I was gonna have to let go of the show since I missed too many episodes. I'm glad I didn't, though. It's nice to hear the witty banter of the characters again, especially Dan and Blair's.

I just love seeing those two names together! Yeah, yeah. Call me a fangirl. I dare not deny. :)

Machines and bearings

Posted by austenfan at 4/22/2012 11:04:00 PM 0 comments
I admit, even though I'm an engineer, sometimes it's hard for me to visualize how machines and their parts work. So, if someone just mentions something about a linear bearing to me without any kind of illustration, I don't think I'd understand it. I know, I really need to study more about these things!

How about you? Are there some topics that you're just at a loss when they come up in your conversation with others? How does it feel? It's a bit frustrating, right?

Yeah, it can be irritating when people start talking about things that you don't know about. That's why it's better to stock up on your knowledge so you can avoid facing that kind of situation.

So, how do you get your normal color back after going to the beach?
I'm asking because I don't think the "tanned" look is working out for me. Haha.

I'm sure you've had a similar experience before. So, how long did yours last?

Play the piano?

Posted by austenfan at 4/22/2012 09:03:00 PM 0 comments
When I was a child, I tried to learn how to play the piano. At first, I was so excited to actually own one, to be able to press the keys whenever I wanted to. However, as the lessons progressed, I grew tired of it. I decided to just learn it on my own.

Of course, nothing came out of that. I stopped practicing and later on, lost interest in it. Maybe it was because my keyboard wasn't as grand as Nord Keyboards. Maybe it was just that I became too focused on other things - like playing with girly toys. Haha.

How about you? Have you ever tried playing the piano? Are you any good at it?

Graduation nostalgia

It's graduation season once again! All over Facebook, I see status updates about the joy of having surpassed five difficult years in the College of Engineering. I remember how I felt the same way years ago.

Congratulations to all the graduates!

Decluttering my desk

Posted by austenfan at 4/22/2012 02:42:00 PM 0 comments
Most of the time, papers are scattered all over my desk that you almost can't see the top of it. Yeah, that's how little my working space is. I refuse to say it's because of my lack of organizational skills. Haha. Seriously, though, I think I might need to get some industrial shelving to store all those important documents in.

Wow, that sounded really professional of me. :) Anyway, how do you declutter your own desk? Do you arrange all your papers into neat little piles? Do you just throw away those files that you think you don't need anymore?

I can't seem to let go of most of my papers, though. They all look pretty important to me. :)

Gossip Girl marathon

Posted by austenfan at 4/22/2012 01:56:00 PM 0 comments
I've missed a lot of Gossip Girl episodes since January and now, I'm doing a little Gossip Girl marathon to make up for it! It's weird how I thought that since I stopped watching it lately, I didn't care much about what happens in the show anymore; but after just seeing a few episodes, I'm totally into it again! Haha.

I guess I'll forever be a Gossip Girl fangirl, then. More DAIR scenes, please!

Wishing for more vacation trips

It's been a week after my our Bohol trip, but I still find myself thinking and feeling nostalgic over it. I miss the calmness of Bohol. I miss lounging by the hotel's chairs and rustic tables while listening to the gentle lapping of the waves at the beach.

Now, I understand why some people get so addicted to traveling that they schedule trips with their friends whenever they could. I would do it too, if I had enough funds and free time! Traveling can indeed make one feel a different kind of happiness. It's like the more places you've had the chance to explore, the more you know of their culture, and the more you develop as a person. That sounds terribly sentimental, I know, but it's true.

I should start making a list of my "places to see" and also, start saving up for more of those trips!

Vacation's over.

But I don't want it to end yet. To be able to put work on hold for a few more days, now, that would be awesome. Haha.

I'm sure there's a lot of things to do at the office, though. Let the work week begin, then!

For my friend

Posted by austenfan at 4/04/2012 11:46:00 PM 0 comments
One of my close friends is currently taking up medicine. Yes, she aims to be an excellent doctor someday. I'd say that day is just around the corner. :)

Anyway, I can't deny that medicine is definitely one of the hardest professions to master. You have to go through more or less ten years to be a full-fledged doctor. That's why if you can get help somewhere to make your study load a little lighter, then that would really be beneficial for you! I've read of a site that can help you with some of the medical concepts that you may need. They offer a consultant interview course to help you get a feel for how the real interview goes. If you want to become a teacher in the field of medicine someday, then you can also avail of their medical teaching course. Learning the concepts as a student and as someone who plans to be a teacher are two very different things so I think this course can help a lot. If your interests lies in becoming a leader, then why not try their medical management course? Their experts can help you get the skills that you'll need for management. To enhance your knowledge in the medical field, then the teach the teacher course can also be a great help!

Blogging to de-stress

Posted by austenfan at 4/04/2012 11:25:00 PM 0 comments
I wonder if, this time, blogging can help me de-stress. It has worked before, and I hope it will again this time.

These past months has been frustrating for me. I'm sorry, but I won't be talking about it here. I just wanna let this out. I'm hoping by writing this down, I'll feel a little better afterwards.

Writing has always been a good stress reliever for me, I'm not really sure why. There's something about constructing sentences. It doesn't matter how simple or complex they are or if they make any sense or not. Writing, for me, is just... fun. I can't think of any other word for it.

That's one of the reasons why I blog. :)

I need to get my laptop fixed.

Posted by austenfan at 4/01/2012 11:03:00 PM 0 comments
It's either that or I buy a new laptop. However, since I don't have enough money to get myself a laptop, I would have to content myself with borrowing or using my phone to connect to the internet. Anyway, I still don't know what kind of notebook to buy (when I have the money to buy it). Should I consider buying a netbook or should I try looking at some tablet laptops and see if anything catches my eye?

What do you think? I'm not much of a techie so I don't know the pros and cons of each type of gadget. Haha. As long as it's durable and speedy enough, then I'm fine with it! It doesn't have to look very stylish, as long as it does the job well. :)

Sweeter the second time around?

Posted by austenfan at 4/01/2012 10:02:00 PM 0 comments
Yep, anyone who reads this blog would know that I'm a big hopeless romantic. I love reading love stories. Call me cheesy, but I won't deny it - love stories make me feel all warm and happy inside. :) One of my most favorite themes on love stories is the kind where two people who got separated for some period of time find their way back to each other.

There's just something romantic about trying to fix things between two people and getting them back together - stronger and better than ever, right? I can imagine the guy searching for the girl, looking at different address signs, as he searches for the girl's house. Haha. I haven't read anything like that, though. I just made that one up.

How about you? What are your favorite love stories?

Sleepy weekends

Posted by austenfan at 4/01/2012 08:32:00 PM 0 comments
It seems like I've spent most of my time these past weekends curled up in bed and sleeping. With the daily stress at work, I won't even wonder as to the reason why I feel this way. Yep, it's nice to have some rest and relaxation, even if it is only for a couple of days.

What do you do during your free time on weekends? Do you try to get as much sleep as you can (like me)? Do you spend it doing all sorts of fun and exciting activities, like mountain climbing or going to the beach? :)

Need to learn more about IT?

Posted by austenfan at 4/01/2012 03:14:00 PM 0 comments
Without a doubt, IT is one of the most in-demand career fields out there. You just have to make a search in one of the many available job search engines, and you'd get a hundred or so results about jobs related to IT. So, if you're still thinking of what course to take in college, then why not try getting something that's IT-related? At least, you'll know you won't have a hard time looking for a job after you graduate. However, if you already have something set in your mind, then you better go with it then. :)

If you want to know more about IT, you only have to search the internet and the information's already available and ready for your perusal. Research on animation or ITIL Resources and see if they interest you. Personally, I don't know much about IT (although I've worked for some time in the industry), but I know that it's a very promising career for young professionals!
